New Shoes and Nice Weather

It's almost like spring around here lately, which means we've headed to the park 2 days in a row! The sand is still kind of wet underneath but who cares? Allison is loving it, taking off her shoes and running wild. Thomas loves to crawl around and flick the sand every which way...kind of funny to watch. He's been tasting it as well, but I think he's quickly learning that it's totally disgusting.

Allison also got some new shoes this weekend. The whole purpose for heading to Stride Rite was to get Thomas his first pair of shoes, hoping there'd be some sales on a possible pair of shoes for Al. Well, it was not to be as his tiny size (4, which is shocking since the rest of him is anything but tiny) isn't very well-stocked as a rule. Oh well. We ended up finding some snazzy sneakers for Allison which were not on sale, thank you very much. They light up when she walks. I can't believe, after years of seeing kids in these kinds of shoes, that I actually have a pair for my own kid. She looks so cute in them, plus they're velcro so she can put them on herself. They were pricier than any other shoe we've ever bought her (even most of our own shoes....oh no, we've become those parents) but they're worth every penny if she puts them on herself without a fight everyday. Anything to make my life easier in the mornings...

Here are some pictures of the shoes, the park outing today, and a quick pretend play session with Daddy before bedtime tonight.

you're killing me with your weather report. it is cold and snowy here.
and don't worry, we all buy our kids expensive shoes--they are so cute, who could resist?

Velcro is a mother's best friend. It is worth the extra money to not have laces. That look on Thomas' face is so funny! I would LOVE your weather too.
