Today is our 5th Anniversary! We can't believe it since 5 years seems to have passed by like just 1 year. Kid years are to blaim...pregnancies, having infants, then toddlers...time pretty much evaporates before your eyes. We celebrated by taking the kids to the park and then to Crepes-A-Go-Go, or "grapes a go-go" as Allison calls it. If ever there was a way to totally sidetrack your diet, this place is it. Carbs go there to die! It's a fabulous death, too, complete with all kinds of toppings. Allison went to town on our sweet dessert crepe, a chocolate-banana-whipped cream thing. That girl has a sweet tooth!
Thomas is a regular climber-cruiser-troublemaker now. I was helping Allison use the bathroom about a week ago and found Thomas in the middle of the coffee table, just sitting there with a "What?" look on his face. So now, not only do I have to make sure all the stairgates are latched, the cat food and water are off the floor, the entertainment center is locked, but I also have to worry about him scaling the furniture? At 13 months?!?!? Jeez, it's tiring. And now look at what he can do:
He also said his first sentence this week. We were at the park with a friend, J.D., and his mom. Allison was helping J.D. fill the bucket with sand- he's just 3 days younger than Thomas so she was used to this sort of "helping"- and he dumped it out. His mom said, "Uh oh, J.D.!" and Thomas echoed it, exactly like she said it. We both gasped, shocked that he spoke so clearly! He likes saying "Uh-oh" any chance he gets now. You can guess what that means...oh, we see you've thrown your dinner on the floor, Thomas, on purpose..."Uh-oh" doesn't really apply when you do it on purpose, bud.
